Whatever college is throwing at you, you don't have to figure it out alone.
Why students choose us
Burnout before finals. Anxiety that won't quit. Feeling lost, lonely, or like you're falling behind everyone else. Relationship stress. Identity questions. The pressure to have it all together when you really don't.
That's college, and that's exactly what we're here for.
Walkable distance
Dobie Center, 2021 Guadalupe St, a 5-minute walk from campus and CMHC.
No waitlist
Same / next-day availability, not a months-long wait while things pile up.
Therapists who get it
Texas-licensed therapists and supervised associates who know student life.
Confidential and secure
HIPAA-compliant. Nothing shared with CMHC or the university without consent.
What we help with

FAQs
-
Nope. Whether your CMHC counselor sent you here or you just found us on your own, you can book directly. Coming from CMHC just means we already know you're a UT Austin student, so things move faster.
-
Item Probably. We take BlueCross BlueShield, Optum, Aetna, Cigna, Oscar, and more. Most students end up paying $20–$30 a session. No insurance? Sessions start at $110, and we can talk through what makes sense for you.
-
If you're on a parent's insurance plan, that's a fair thing to wonder about — some plans send an Explanation of Benefits to the policyholder for any provider visit, not just therapy. If privacy matters to you, ask us about it when you book and we'll walk through your options.
-
Not quite. Think of us as CMHC's outside partner — they send students our way when they need more ongoing support than what's available on campus. We're separate from the university, in-person and virtual.
-
Nothing scary. Your therapist asks what's going on and what brought you in, and you figure out together what ongoing sessions could look like. No pressure to have it all figured out before you walk in.
-
Yes. Fit matters more than sticking with whoever you started with — just tell us and we'll help you switch.
-
If it's taking up space in your head, it's worth talking about. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to show up — burnout, feeling stuck, or just not feeling like yourself is reason enough.

Semester Health is an outpatient provider, not a crisis service. If you're in crisis, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline or your CMHC crisis line right away.
