Grief-related concern

Grief & loss

Processing a loss while still expected to show up for classes, exams, and everything else is its own particular kind of hard. Get compassionate support from therapists who understand student life doesn't pause for grief.

Most students with insurance pay a $25 average copay. No insurance? Sessions start at $110.

What is Grief?

Grief is the natural response to loss — of a person, a relationship, an identity, or a version of life you expected to have. It doesn't move in a straight line, and there's no fixed timeline for when it should be "resolved."

How it affects college students

Grief in college students is often complicated by distance from home, a lack of built-in support systems, and academic obligations that don't pause for loss. Many students feel pressure to "hold it together" for classes or don't know how to ask for accommodations while grieving. Grief can also resurface around anniversaries, holidays, or other transitions.

Our treatment approach

Our therapists provide a space to process grief at your own pace, without a deadline or a "right way" to do it. We also help with the practical side — communicating with professors, figuring out what support or accommodations are available, and rebuilding a sense of stability.
